British Empire Medal (BEM) "For outstanding efficiency and devotion to duty over a long period. This rating has always set a very fine example to others and displayed outstanding qualities during long and trying period of A/S work in HMCS Chaudierefollowing "D" day.
He was present on at least two occasions when the ship attacked U-Boats." (Awarded as per Canada Gazette16 June 1945 and London Gazette of 14 June 1945.)
