In 02/1894 he was appointed as a Boy Seaman (Second Class) RN.
In 1894 he served in HMS Impregnable.
He served in HMS Ramillies.
He served in HMS Cruiser.
He served in HMS Magnificent.
He served in HMS Victorious.
He served in HMS Renown.
He served in HMS Hannibal.
He served in HMS Leander.
He served in HMS Vivid.
In 1909 he was appointed as a Petty Officer RN.
In 1909 he served in HMS Vanguard.
In 1914 he was appointed as Chief Petty Officer RN.
In 1914 he served in HMS Seal. (He was demobilized.) He was appointed as a Chief Instructor with the Navy League Sea Cadets (Calgary AB).
He was appointed as a Chief Petty Officer RCNVR 1923.
He served in the Calgary Half-Company RCNVR 1923. (In 1933 he was retired as "over age"). (He was mobilized for sEcond World War service). (CFR).
He was appointed as a Boatswain (Temp.) RCNVR 1944. (He was retired 05/03/1945.)
