"I got into the field in 1975 when I volunteered to work as a field interpreter with the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority at the Gould Lake Conservation Area near Kingston ON. A week after I started, an employee working under Experience ’75 government employment programme quit - and I took over (and started getting paid.) My main job was to develop a self-guided interpretive trail and to provide a security presence on the site. My co-workers at Gould Lake were Wendy Earl and Gail Jackson.
