This freighter, (north sands-type) was built in 1943 by Burrard Drydock Co. Ltd. in North Vancouver, BC.
In 1947 she was owned by Dominion of Canada on bare-boat charter to the Ministry of War Transport, London UK (Houlder Brothers & Co. Ltd., mgrs.
In 1960 she was registered at People's Republic of China.
