On March 21, 1989 this vessel grounded and sank in Kah Shakes Cove, AK USA. Dr. Colin Levings (Email to Nauticapedia 01/10/2025 stated "I encountered her in July 1964 when I was in Alaska (near Kodiak), working as a student technician on CGS G.B. Reed out of PBS Nanaimo.
