(In 1990 this vessel was designated as a British Columbia Vintage Vessel by the Maritime Museum of British Columbia.) Janet Richardson (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 02/12/2018) states that " Late 1960s, the Loki was owned by Ed McLean, an elderly trapper/prospector who lived in the Sayward / Kelsey Bay area.

He had the boat pulled up on the beach at Port Khusam, just south of Kelsey Bay. Kim and Walter Sacht acquired the boat from Ed McLean around 1970 with the intention of using her as a camp tender for their logging operations on the mainland.

They moved the boat to the estuary of the Salmon River, where this vessel sat until John Vey bought her in 1972. John moved her by trailer to Campbell River where he and his wife Marg did a major renovation over two years, and then launched her as the Nirvana. During the two year renovation, my husband was also renovating a Japanese gillnetter in the same boat shed."
