Historische Notizen
Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 01/12/2023) wrote "Like most California marinas, Berkeley keeps the general public locked out of the finger piers, though I did find the gate to the central commercial pier open, and proceeded to invite myself in. While George Schneider had also spotted ORCA III (515615) and provided the details of her history in his e-mail, I found her parked in what seems to be a much more photogenic location, and managed to get a nice, unimpeded photo of the Bay Area's Neptune Society burial-at-sea boat. George Schneider (Feb 2026) writes: She was built by a company specializing in oilfield crewboats, so shows that kind of design, but appears to have been completed as a sport fishing party boat. As to her later life, The Neptune Society is an agency that specializes in burials at sea.
