Historical Notes
George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 27/11/2023) states "The Malama was "escorting" (as they described it on the radio) a Navy boat called MPC 4. This proved to be 95SC1203, one of apparently several vessels built in the last decade by Modutech Marine of Tacoma WA for the Navy. The "SC" category seems to be a miscellany of boats with various missions, including those working as torpedo/missile retrievers, and the outfitting on this one makes me think that's what this vessel does."

In 2023 she was owned by the United States Navy.
