This tug was built in 1945 by Gibbs Gas Engine Co., Jacksonville, FL.
Historical Notes
Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 29/11/2022) stated "I photographed the sorry state of the CALEB (597271). I won't repeat the vessel history George has outlined in his Half Moon Bay e-mails, but recent history had her left abandoned at a port pier in March this year, towed out and anchored in the outer harbor within a few weeks, and then on the bottom sometime in late May. This vessel was still there as of my visit, though the Port Commissioners are apparently working to declare her abandoned in order to secure the title and order salvage and/or demolition."

In 1945 this vessel was owned by the United States Navy.
In 2013-2017 she was owned by Brian Farcy, Ward Cove AK USA.
In 2018-2019 she was owned by Jasper Danielson, San Mateo CA USA.
