Story

This passenger vessel was built in 1981 by Champion Shipyards in Jean Lafitte, LA.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 18/02/2023) stated "In the entrance channel we passed MERLIN (641765), a classic 100-foot Swiftships-design aluminum crewboat that has been based in San Diego since 2006. This vessel hangs out with the yachts, and I'm sure her owner also enjoys her as such, but this vessel does government-related jobs in much the same way as Seaward does. This vessel was built in 1981 at the former Champion Shipyard in Jean Lafitte LA, which Swiftships had bought and ran until the next oilfield downturn. This boat was originally named C/VICTOR, became WHITE TIDE about 1990. This vessel was sold out of oilfield service in 1999 and became EVEREST GRIFFIN, SEAVIEW, and now MERLIN."
