Story

This passenger vessel was built in 1980 by Covacevich Shipyard in Biloxi, MS.

Historical Notes

Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 29/11/2022) stated "Until recently, a small flotilla of derelict workboats had called a portion of the Crockett waterfront almost under the Carquinez Strait bridge home. I recent years, that fleet had all gone from floaty to sunky, with some speculation that the state's ability to legally declare them derelict was tied to that process. Apparently in the second half of 2022, California moved to take possession and clean up the mess, and the remains of that process were now hiding on the Mare Island waterfront. Most obvious was the gulf-built crew boat CAL BAY V (631031). I've yet to find the original name this vessel was delivered under in 1980 at Biloxi, presumably by the Covacevich yard, but by 1989 this vessel was working as a Panama City pilot boat under the name CAPT GRAYDON YORK."
