Story

This missile tracking ship was built in 1988 by Halter Moss Point.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 30/09/2022) stated "The Army missile tracking ship WORTHY. This vessel was originally the USNS WORTHY (T-AGOS 14), built by Halter Moss Point in 1988.

By 1993 this vessel was already surplus and was transferred to the U. S. Geological Survey. They, too, quickly surplussed her, and the Army picked her up in 1995. Since then she's been based in the Kwajalein Atoll. Her duties there appear similar to those of the Navy designation AGM. I'm guessing this vessel comes back to the U.S. periodically for maintenance.
