Historical Notes

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 30/09/2022) stated "the push tug SKAGIT (277518) also had a Crowley connection. This vessel was built by and for the River Lines at Sacramento CA in 1958 as KERN. The owners name later changed to Bay Cities Transportation Co. and then Crowley Marine. I'm not sure at what point Crowley became involved in her ownership. In the late 1980s this vessel was reported abandoned on the beach at Prudhoe Bay AK, but was later back in service for Crowley until this vessel was sold for service in Puget Sound in 1997. New owners changed her name around 2012. Her present owner shows as Rock Solid Sand & Gravel Co. of Tacoma WA."

Owners & Masters
