George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "ISLAND VOYAGER (547618). She's now second-string, working for Island Tug and Barge of Seattle and doing seagoing tows of barges. But she's 50 years old. When built, this vessel was a monster. This vessel came out as an anchor handling tug named KELLY CANDIES, built by Houma Welders in 1972. Later Gulf names include KELLY, CAPT ANDREW, OPI CAPT. ANDREW, and GULF WIND II.

In 1995 this vessel began towing oil barges on the East Coast, earning the names CHESAPEAKE and SARGASSO SEA before getting her present name in Puget Sound in 2010."
