This tanker was built in 1943 by California Shipbuilding Corp., Los Angeles CA.
In 1943-1945 she was owned by the United States War Shipping Administration, Washington DC USA.
In 1955 she was converted to dry cargo at Schiedam Netherlands. In 1955 she was lengthened to 511.5' 8394gt at Maizuru Japan.
