Historische Notizen
On September 9, 1956 while in ballast en route to Vancouver BC from Tokyo this vessel was stranded on Sonora Reef (100 miles off course). This vessel slipped off the reef and drifted ashore just south of the Quinault River, 30 miles north of Grays Harbor WA USA. Two salvage tugs, the A.G. Hubble (from Port Angeles WA) and the Island Commander (from Victoria BC) rushed to the scene but the A.G. Hubble got a line on the wreck first. The crew of the Seagate were all taken off safely. The ship broke in two on the beach where this vessel was broken up.
