This tug was built in 1970 by McDermott Shipyard Inc in Morgan City, LA.
Notas históricas
Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 13/12/2021) stated "another tug at the Billeter moorings, the MAVERICK (525855), another of the tugs unloaded in Crowley's "fire sale." At first glance this vessel appeared to be one of the Invader-class, but it turned out that while McDermott-built (hull 161), she's actually the former GUARDIAN of the preceeding Sea Swift-class. Externally it's hard to tell the difference, as the main distinction is that the Invaders were improved with more power."
