This minesweeper was built in 1943 by Al Larson Boat Shop Inc., Terminal Island CA.
Notas históricas
While on a training mission, the USS Grouse went aground off Rockport, Massachusetts, on the night of September 21, 1963. There were no injuries to the crew, but all efforts to dislodge Grouse from the rocks failed. The USS Grouse was destroyed by explosives September 28, 1963.
