Historische Notizen
George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "the corporate yacht for Willamette Western, named WILLAMETTE PACIFIC (270206).
He pointed out that she’s the only one he’s ever known to have the extended house, and I suggested WW added that to make her a yacht. Then he pointed out it was riveted. So it was something this vessel received before WWII. She’d been built for the Coast Guard as the WOLCOTT. This vessel had no number; until the Navy began meddling with things in WWII, Coast Guard vessels had either names or numbers, but not both.
In 1936 she’d been transferred to the Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, keeping her name, and that’s where this vessel got her added house. I’m not sure what this vessel did for them, or how this vessel got to the West Coast, but this vesselshowed up commercially for WW in Portland in 1955. "
