Historische Notizen

George Schneider (May 2026) writes: She was originally a freighter, built for use on California's Sacramento Delta. As Columbia Deuce, she was fulfilling an Army Corps contract to build the Los Angeles breakwater, and a deal was made for the Army Corps to purchase her outright. Before delivery the Navy pre-empted them due to greater need, and the breakwater project was suspended for the duration of the War. Her last documents expired sometime in the 1980's, and her fate is not recorded.
