歴史的注記

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "My major goal for the trip (everybody thought it was for lucrative employment on the Pacific Responder) was to find the old hulk they’d towed out from under me last summer. Sure enough, this vessel was there, and quite accessible, in downtown Stockton. She’s never been opened for business, but doesn’t look too bad. Unfortunately, the most visible side of her has always been away from the parking and entrance, so that’s where they put all the ugly stuff, which now includes an elevator housing, several cooking grease scrubbers, and something hiding the classy bridge front. This vessel was originally the Army “Artillery Steamer” (foot ferry) General Frank M Coxe, which also served after WWII as a tour boat in San Francisco (Kept her name as ON 252866). About 1960 this vessel was converted into a restaurant and reportedly has served under 11 different names, first in Stockton, then Oakland, and most recently in Burlingame. The restaurant names I know for her are Showboat, Pattaya Princess, and The Sherman." this vessel was broken up in 2020.

所有者と船長

In 1922-1947 she was owned by the United States Army.

In 1948 she was owned by the Golden Gate Scenic Steamship Line, San Francisco CA USA. Later she became a floating restaurant in Stockton CA USA operating under several names (which may not have been offical vessel names).

改修

After retiring as an active vessel, the Coxe was converted to a floating restaurant called the Showboat in Stockton, California.[18] The restaurant went through several leases and was operated under several names in various locations. At one point it was a dance club catering to the “under 21” patrons. In the 1960s and 1970s it was berthed at Jack London Square in Oakland, California, and then moved to Burlingame, California and operated as the Pattaya Princess, a Thai restaurant, in the 1970s and 1980s, closing in 1990.
