Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 13/12/2021) stated "Grouped to the rear were the ocean tugs, the closest being a mostly-repainted NOKEA (567629), a former oilfield tug built by Halter (hull 468) in 1975 as CAPT. MILLER. I'm a little hazy on her ownership under that name, as well as JOHN F, though the best evidence I could find may point towards Theriot Offshore. This vessel later became SHAVER the company of the same name out of Portland, Oregon, then in 2000 this vessel became Smith Maritime's NOKEA, which was gobbled up into the K-Sea and Kirby fleets."
