This tug was built in 1983 by Western Towboat Co. Inc., Seattle WA.
Historische Notizen
On March 21, 2022 the tug Western Mariner ran aground in Neva Strait Alaska. This vessel had been towing the container barge Chichagof Provider when a temporary steering failure caused the barge to collide with the tug forcing the tug aground. The barge was anchored while the tug was refloated and taken to Sitka Alaska for inspection and repair.
