Fireboat 20

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "the new Long Beach fire boat was in. This vessel was built by the Foss Shipyard, and originally scheduled for delivery in 2014. On her stern this vesselhas the name PROTECTOR, but this vessel is documented as FIREBOAT 20 (1252653), although that name isn’t rendered in full anywhere on her. That’s a peculiar number, since it’s only Long Beach’s 6th fireboat. The previous pair are about 30 years old, and apparently have been a maintenance nightmare ever since they were built. Oddly, the pair before them, built about 1954, are both still working as workboat tugs. "
