Historical Notes
Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 01/12/2023) wrote "From the commercial vessels, I moved on to quite the scattered assortment of yachts with a back story. At the end of one of the fingers piers was a classy example of one of the large, post-war yachts built by the Stephens yard in Stockton. The 60-foot AHALANI (275747) was delivered in 1957 to a Manuel Serpa. From what I could find, Serpa was a Portuguese immigrant who had worked his way up in the world by developing land and irrigation in the Turlock area. By the late fifties he was apparently doing well enough in those pursuits to buy one of the larger offerings available from the local yacht industry."
