George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "The former San Francisco ferry SANTA ROSA (226599) was built by General Engineering in Oakland in 1927, and had a sister FRESNO, built by Bethlehem.
They were single-enders, but in many respects were similar to the "Steel electrics" that later worked on Puget Sound until they worked themselves to death. All 6 went to Puget Sound in 1937 after the Bay Bridge opened. This one was renamed ENETAI. The two single-enders were discarded about 1970 and returned to San Francisco in the hands of speculators. This one was eventually a success, becoming an office building, and last served as the corporate offices for Hornblower Cruises, who used that same pier for their largest tour boats. When first restored, this vesselshowed the Southern Pacific-Golden Gate markings, but those don't show anymore, and unfortunately, it looks like she's no longer occupied. Somewhere along the line this vessel received a second "End" with main deck opening and wheelhouse. So far nobody has been able to tell me whether the second wheelhouse is outfitted, or just a mock-up, but I'm sure this vesselnever received propulsion for that end."
