Story
This yacht, power-cruiser was built in 1975 by Sabre Yachts Ltd. in South Casco, ME.
Historical Notes
This vessel was a Sabrecraft Express Cruiser. Len Burton states " I have owned the Dawna 2 for twenty years, second owner. Shes a 1975 26 foot Sabercraft Express Cruiser and one of three brought to Vancouver Island in 1975. There are probably not many of these left. The original owner had all of the custom railing and inside teak decks and teak pulpit done after her purchase. I've pretty well restored her over the years repowering with a 350 hp chev engine, recurved distributor and a few other things to make her go. Top speed is 31 knots. My wife and I cruise the coast during the summer. I'm also involved in SAR training with RCMSAR, CCG,and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The beach pictures are not real but the SAR group didn't know that when they pulled up, it was a pre arranged training session. The other pic shows you just can't hide a controlled substance from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I'm a retired Chief Engineer with a sea career on 18 ships. Retirement is pretty good going where I want to instead of where I have to."
