This icebreaker was built in 1975 by Vaagen Verft in Kyrksaeterora.
In 1997 this vessel was involved in a forest industry protest at Port Hardy BC Canada. This vessel then headed to the Beaufort Sea for an oil-gas protest.
In 1975-1995 she was owned by G.C. Rieber Shipping, Norway.
In 1995-2023 she was owned by owned by Stichting Phoenix, Netherlands (Stichting Greenpeace Council)
