Historische Notizen
This vessel sailed November 12th, 1900 from Santa Rosalia CA for Portland OR USA. In December 1900 this vessel took on an American pilot (Captain Cordiner) at the Columbia River bar and then disappeared. This vessel foundered while bound from the Fraser River canneries to Liverpool England with a cargo of salmon. The tug went out in search of the overturned hull reported by the Chilean bark Temuco. Last seen off the entrance to the Columbia River, the wreckage turned up on the west coast of Vancouver Island. This vessel was found on her beam ends some miles offshore, the nameboard and wreckage found on shore in Clayoquot Sound. It was reported that 30 lives lost. One theory advanced at the time was that this vessel was in a collision with the Ardnamurchan which disappreared about the same time after sailing from the Fraser River with a cargo of salmon.
