Story

This freighter was built in 1915 by Russell & Co. Ltd. in Port Glasgow, Scotland.

Historical Notes

On July 29, 1923 this British freighter, while enroute from Seattle to San Francisco, went aground in a fog on Bentinck Island. This vessel struck on a particularly high tide and the receding tide left her stranded.

They had to wait several weeks until another very high tide could aid the salvage process. On August 13, 1923, after 16 days this vessel was refloated by the salvage tug Algerine (with the Nitinat and Burrard Chief).
