The H.W. McCurdy Marine History of the Pacific Northwest states (Pp488) that "On 27/01/1941 this vessel ran hard aground on Susan Rocks in Milbanke Sound, 125 miles south of Prince Rupert. Her 23 passengers and part of her 38 crew were taken off by the USS Charleston. Captain Williamson and a small crew stayed aboard for a time but salvage attempts by the Pacific Salvage Co. (Salvage Chieftain), Victoria BC failed when this vesselslipped off the rocks and sank in 90 feet of water. This vessel was eventually beached at Prince Rupert in July after having been suspended from four large scows by cables and still submerged 35 feet." Kyle Stubbs (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 04/11/2016) states that "After Army service, this vessel ended her life as a cargo vessel in the Philippines under the names Bisayas, Melleza, and Regina before being broken up in Hong Kong in 1956."
