Kyle Stubbs (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 26/06/2019) stated that this vessel was "Built in 1967 by Blount Boats in Rhode Island as the car ferry Abnaki for use on Lake Champlain in the northeastern US. This vessel was soon found too small for continued operations there, and in 1971 was sold to the City of Ketchikan AK, brought around via the Panama Canal, and placed in service as a ferry between town and the airport on Gravina Island, eventually being renamed as the Dick Borch in the early 1980s.
In 1989 this vessel was replaced with a larger vessel and sold, eventually making her way down to Vancouver and converted into a charter vessel."
