Historia

This minesweeper, lake-class (admiralty - type) was built in 1944 by Claire Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in Meteghan, NS.

Notas históricas

This vessel is rumoured to have been completed as a civilian vessel. Brendan Coyle (Richmond BC in an email to For Posterity's Sake Website 12/09/2016 states "This vessel was actually completed but not as a warship. It was sold to Norwegian whaling interests and eventually ended up in British Columbia. It ended up as a floating home at Maple Ridge on the Fraser River but sank at its moorings. I dived the vessel several times and wrote an article about it for Diver Magazine." Her construction was cancelled in 1944 - so never commissioned. Is it likely that this vessel was completed - and then moved around from Nova Scotia to British Columbia? Seems unlikely but not impossible.
