Story

This fishboat, general was built in 1982 in Whiskey Creek, BC.

Owners & Masters

in 1982 she was owned by Robert J. (Bob) Grant and Laurie J. MacBride, Parksville, BC Canada.

In 1985 sole ownership was transferred to Bob Grant.

He still owns the boat (2021), although the vessel is no longer afloat and has been stored on land for many years now.

Name Significance

Laurie MacBride states "The boat was launched and moored at French Creek before being given a name. We transferred the commercial salmon fishing licence from our old boat (Alumination), and rushed the new boat into service as quickly as possible so that Bob would not lose any time from his fishing season. The very first fish he caught aboard the new vessel was taken just off Madrona Point, which was just offshore from the property we lived on in Parksville. So "Madrona Point" seemed like the right name for the vessel."
