Historische Notizen
Tad Roberts (Email to Nauticapedia 05/12/2024) stated "The Lady Jane that we are preserving is the Lady Jane (III) in your Nauticapedia list, with a 14K number though that is not displayed in the photo.
She was built by the Newman family in Sansum Narrows, and launched in 1961. Her design was by Frank Fredette though modified by the Newmans. Dimensions are 39' x 9' x 4' (11.88 x 2.75 x 1.2m). Originally a live-well cod boat, later switched to salmon trolling and beachcombing. Owned and fished by Dickie Newman 61-2019. In February 2019 my son, James Roberts, acquired the boat from Dickie Newman (who was in hospital at the time) in Ganges, Saltspring Island. The boat had been sitting for several years more-or-less abandoned (ss Dickie was ill) by then. James towed LJ to Silva Bay where we continue to preserve her (afloat) as one of the last more-or-less intact gulf trollers, restoration remains a possibility."
