Story

This fishboat, general was built in 1947 in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Historical Notes

This vessel served as a 26 foot Lifeboat on the "Sechelt Queen" for many years. After retirement this vessel was refurbished in Sydney by John Lovatt shipwright in 1987: adding the wheelhouse, top deck, insulated fish hold, 120 Ford Lehman Diesel engine and hydraulic steering and winches. The former owners used her both recreationally and commercially for 25 years in the Southern Gulf Island waters. This vessel was designed to serve as a Crabber (thus the forward insulated hold) and was used for that purpose for a number of years. As Pender Island was being developed, this vessel was used to transport explosives to the Island as homesites were being cleared. This vessel has been moored in Thieves Bay, on Pender Island, since 2013.
