This tug was built in 2009 by Damen Shipyards in Galati.
Historische Notizen
This vessel was launched on the 4th September 2008 by Mrs Jeannette van der Ster-Gruben wife of newbuild superintendent Hans van der Ster. Commissioned on 6th February, 2009 to Smit Shipping Singapore Pvt. Ltd. under Bahama flag with call sign C6XM9. On the 10th February 2009 this vessel sailed from Galati; Romania to the Baltic with a delivery crew of Transport & Offshore Service (TOS). The vessel made some stops in Valetta and Rotterdam by. On the 4th March this vessel arrived in Ventspils for operations in the Baltic.
In 2009 this vessel was brought in the Towmar-Smit joint Venture and renamed Smit Venta.

In 2009 she was owned by a 50/50 joint-venture Towmar-Smit.
In 2015-2019 she was owned by Saam Smit Canada Inc., Vancouver BC Canada.
In 2020-2021 she was owned by Saam Towage Canada Inc., Vancouver BC Canada.
