This vessel was commssioned November 18, 1941 in the (1940-1941 building programme).
In 1947 this vessel was used for offshore geomagnetic surveying in the Bahamas. A 3cm radar set was added for positioning.

In 1941-1945 she was owned by the Royal Canadian Navy.
In 1945 she was owned by Marine Industries Ltd., Sorel QC Canada.
She was returned for resale and sold on 16/11/1945 to Consolidated Shipbuilding Ltd., Morris Heights NY USA.
In 1947 she was owned by Standard Oil Co. (Bahamas) Ltd.
