Story

This yacht, sail (ketch-rigged) was built in 1980 by Markos Yachts Ltd. in Coquitlam, BC.

Historical Notes

Nick Newell (Email to Nauticapedia 27/04/2020) stated that When this Maple Leaf-class boat was launched at Rocky Point in 1980 there was two people on board Markos and me and I was literally in the bilge tightening up the keel bolts one last time as this vesselentered the water. I never worked for Markos (though he did ask me) but I attended several of his boat launchings to help out." Commodore’s Boats reports in 2020 that "This former RVYC vessel has been sitting idle for several years and the new owners have brought it to Commodore’s Boats for an extensive refit." Van Markos stated "one-off motorsailer hull and deck starting from lofting to launch, including installation of ballast keel, steering system, engine and generator were installed and operational. Finished interior of pilothouse except for cushions and electronics, painted boat with Imron, laid teak deck and cap rail, then launched and motored to Reed Point Marina. Owner’s carpenters finished interior at RVYC."
