Histoire

This yacht, sail (sloop-rigged) was built in 1973 by Stirling, Robert Malcolm (Mal) in Haney, BC.

Notes historiques

Trudy Ann Cameron reports that "Ting was a ferro-cement sloop (Samson C-Shell design) built by Robert Malcolm (Mal) Stirling, who owned her until he passed away in 2014. Malcolm was a perfectionist and Ting went through many revisions over Malcolm's forty years of working on her. During the early 1970s, Ting was moored at the temporary "squatter's marina" on the east end of Granville Island (Vancouver, BC) which accommodated many of the boats from the old Clay's Wharf when that area was cleared for the redevelopment of Granville Island. When Heather Civic Marina was completed, many of these boats including Ting, relocated to O-float (the liveaboard float) at Heather Civic. "
