Historical Notes

Pat Fee (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 24//04/2020) stated "The Alanje has quite a history. Prior to 2017, this vessel was owned by Peter Boldt, a long time member and advisor of the Albeners of B.C. When Peter retired years ago he and his wife loaded Alanje on to a trailer and headed east.

They put her into the headwaters of the Mississippi River and traveled down the Mississippi into the Gulf of Mexico, across to the Bahamas where they spent a couple of months exploring the islands. Then they headed up the eastern seaboard using the extensive inland waterways and staying at reciprocal yacht clubs along the way.

They motored across the Great Lakes to where their truck was stored, loaded the boat and headed home.

He told me that the whole adventure took them about a year. "
