Notas históricas
In 1886 this vessel was seized (details currently unknown). The 1901 the Canada List of Shipping states that the vessel was built in Washington State USA. Registry closed February 15, 1902. David Hill-Turner stated "While the pilots were legally required to own shares in a pilot boat, the log books of the Authority (1877/1878) indicate that the Victoria Pilotage Authority also had an active interest and oversaw the crewing and repairs to the vessel. Finding sober cooks for the Carolena seemed to be especially challenging! The earlier dates also contradict the date in the listing. Of related interest, the log book notes that on August 3, 1878 the Carolena collided with the tug Alexander and the Authority was advised to abandon her to the underwriters."
