Notas históricas

George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 17/09/2020) stated "Apparently originally named GARDE COTE 98 for the Canadian Coast Guard. Later became the research vessel STERNE for the Ministry of Transport, Ottawa. Replaced by a new vessel of that name in 1987, she was renamed AVOCET by 1992.

She was discarded in the mid-1990's and in 1999 sold to Jonathan Paul of Bainbridge Island WA (affiliated with Ocean Defense Intl.(no relation to the later owners)) and documented under U. S. flag.

In 2005 was owned by the Sea Shepherd Society of Friday Harbor WA.

In 2006 they donated her to the Ocean Defenders Alliance of Huntington Beach, CA and put under California state license.

She was renamed CLEARWATER, reflecting her mission to remove debris from the ocean.

By 2015 the group had received a larger vessel and she has not been observed since then."
