Notas históricas

This vessel is no longer registered in Canada. The MMBC states "She was designed to be a racer/cruiser so she is both fast and comfortable. The original owner, a member of the Chicago Yacht Club, wanted a West Coast boat and so she was built in 1940 by the well known Kettenburg yard in San Diego.

In 1993, Varya was brought to Victoria by Su Russell and Dave Baker and she sailed the inside passage every summer.

In 2017 Su and Dave’s daughter and her husband took over Varya and she moved to Port Townsend where she is currently raced and sailed in the San Juan Islands.

She is one of a few classic boats in the area with modern synthetic standing rigging."
