Historische Notizen
On June 29, 1984 this cruise ship (a converted former Baltic car ferry) struck Maude Island in Seymour Narrows. It was beached at Duncan Bay at the Crown Forest Industries Elk Falls Mill dock. This vessel was refloated, and towed to the Burrard Dry Dock. This vessel was declared to be a total loss but was subsequently rebuilt as the Pegasus. This vessel was afloat in 2004. Robert Etchell reports (British Columbia Facebook Group 2014) that "This vessel was a hotel in New Westminster during Expo 86 the Sundancer and when with her sister ship Stardancer were carring RVs to Alaska it was a cruise ship but it did not last long." On June 2, 1991 at Venice Italy the Pegasus was destroyed bt fire and sank in the harbour, and was declared a constructive total loss for the second time. Following rebuilding, the intention was that this vessel would be used on the Swansea-Cork Ferries service. On November 20, 1994 this vessel was destroyed by fire, and the ship was declared a constructive total loss for the third time.
In 1995 this vessel was broken up at Aliaga, Turkey.
