Historische Notizen
David Hill-Turner (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 13/08/2022) stated "The Antic was on loan to the VMM for several years and was displayed inside the building. It wasn't an ideal arrangement as the boat was drying out and the owner retrieved her ca. 1983. There are/were photos of her being removed from the building as it took much effort. This Antic may have been built by Hoffars as there was a small info plaque beside her. There may also be information in the Nautical Heritage Society's database (1983) as well as Antiques Afloat. The Antic, a launch, attracted much admiration for her steam engine and brightwork. It is possible this vessel was sold to an American enthusiast after Expo." Colin Parkinson (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 14/08/2022) stated "We did try hard with the limited funds to keep her going and manged to get covered water moorage during the winter for her. One of the Master's steam engineers got her engine working again, on the test run, turned out someone had used the wrong solder for the steam line from the boiler to the engine, let go, thankfully without anyone hurt. We fixed that, but the boiler and the engine were not a great match. But this vessel was a very lovely little boat."
