Historical Notes

On October 24, 1956 this fishpacker, owned by Captain William Burrow, North Vancouver BC, foundered in a storm and sank. The engineer was trying to restart the engine when the battery exploded, and flames spread to barrels of gasoline stored nearby. The men spent 90 minutes in a 10' rowboat on the stormy seas before being picked up by the fishboat Nadina. The crew of five were admitted to hospital but were otherwise safely rescued.
