This frigate (1942/3 programme) was built in 1943 by Morton Engineering & Dry Dock Co. Ltd. in Quebec, QC.
In 1943-1945 she was acquired by the Royal Canadian Navy for service.
She was commissioned as a Prestonian-class Frigate 1955-1965.
