Story

This fishboat, troller was built in 1948 by Anderson, Axel in Prince Rupert, BC.

Historical Notes

Dirk Septer (Email to Nauticapedia 02/09/2019) stated "It took Axel Anderson five years to build Arne A; a vessel named after Axel's only son, born in Salt Lake, across from the Prince Rupert harbour in 1948; Norm & Marge owned the vessel since 1958; powered by 107hp Detroit 453 Diesel engine; vessel holds 22,000 lbs. of salmon or 30,000 lbs. of halibut (salmon requires more salt)." In September 2019, a few days after taking possession the new owner began to travel back to his home when the vessel sank in Grenville Channel. The vessel was saved and refloated but apparentlt suffered from water damage. (In 2022 this vessel was still registered to Norman S. & Margaret Ostrom, Prince Rupert BC - apparently this vessel was not re-registered by the new owner.)
