Historical Notes
Elmer Kabush (Email to Nauticapedia 14/12/2024) stated "My dad’s troller. Sister ship to Flicka I and Flicka 2! Plethora may have been a prototype.
She was yellow cedar planked below water line, and white cedar above. Wedged between planking with cedar strips. A great sea boat. Fiberglass painted decking. Last saw her in Victoria about 20 years ago with new cabin and converted to a small 48 ft halibut boat with all trolling gear and rigging removed. New name at that time. I think she lasted that long due to cedar construction.
She was a marvellous sea boat. We got caught anchored in the Twin Peaks fishing area in the top end of Hecate Straits by a sudden huge southeaster storm! I remember standing on the deck behind the cabin riding the anchor over night. The wind was actually whistling going through the rigging! We dragged the anchor about five mikes north over night! No point running into Triple Island anchorage without radar and hitting a rock pile!"
